Love living overseas, but....

I know my life calling is to live overseas. God has called my husband and I to do this. I know I would feel strange working in the states. It's kind of like the fish out of water feeling.
I just hate that I'm such a homebody! When the holidays come around - like now - I want to be home with my family. Unfortunately I don't own my own jet. That would be nice, but at the moment highly impractical not to mention totally insane! So I ask how do I overcome this need for nostalgia?
At this moment I feel like curling up under a blanket with my husband close and having a good cry. It just seems that would be the best solution. I know this wouldn't accomplish a whole lot, but it sure would feel good.
We are trying to solve this problem a little. Cameron and I have talked a little about making new traditions. I'm hoping we can come up with some fun traditions. I'm also hoping that we will be able to have a Christmas party at our apartment this year. I just discovered an awesome BBQ sauce recipe that makes a great pull apart chicken sandwich! It would be an ideal party food.
What other traditions would be fun? I would love ideas! If you have one - leave a comment or email me!
So...I'm trying to cheer up. I know it will pass and I will get used to this. Please for my sake - enjoy some great food this week! Maybe someday they will have overnight food delivery overseas! Bring on the turkey, stuffing and pie! And definitely have an awesome day shopping on Friday! I would be doing it over the internet, but we were idiots and didn't save money for early Christmas shopping! LOL
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving! Be thankful! We have Christ! We have life because of Christ! We have family! We have love! And hey - we have technology - a huge blessing!
These things alone make me feel a whole lot better!
